Member & Marketing Coordinator

The Member and Marketing Coordinator is a full time, fast-paced position working as a team with the Director, Office Coordinator, Warehouse Coordinator and Sales Manager. This position leads all recruitment, communication, marketing, education and relationship building with farmers, processors and distributors as members of the Fifth Season Cooperative.

REPORTS TO:  Fifth Season Cooperative Director

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Communicate with growers, processors and distributors to source and fill weekly customer orders, set up deliveries, conduct email communication and organize paperwork
  • In cooperation with Sales Manager, determine pricing of products
  • Work with Office Coordinator and Director to monitor financials and budgets
  • Conduct recruitment and process paperwork for new members
  • Prepare new member profiles for approval by Board of Directors
  • Work with Warehouse Coordinator to manage member audits and maintain required certifications on file
  • Provide HACCP requirements and education as needed to members
  • Work with Warehouse Coordinator to meet requirements for GAP inspection of warehouse
  • Work with Sales Manager and Director to coordinate attendance and marketing at industry Food Shows
  • Develop and maintain relevant POS and advertising, including coordinating FSC website, mail chimps and social media with Office Coordinator and Director
  • Work with Director and all staff to organize farmer and processor meetings including annual meetings
  • Invite grower and producer members to conferences and other pertinent events
  • Represent FSC at events/conferences/meetings, produce reports as needed, contribute to grant writing, conference calls and BOD meetings as required
  • Work with Director to provide continuous development and process improvement of FSC policy and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned/needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Commitment to the mission of the Cooperative
  • Direct experience in farming, or food systems work with farmer relationship experiences
  • Detailed oriented, self-motivated and ability to multi-task, set priorities, and meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to working collaboratively with a wide range of partners including FSC members, staff, and Board of Directors
  • Outstanding verbal and written communications and presentation/public speaking skills
  • Computer skills needed to maintain organized reports and documentation
  • Experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint required
  • Willing to work some weekends if needed and travel to events and conferences
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
